Update!!!!

Yup the red dress is 80% done, I still have to hem it....and do a couple of touch ups...as usual I am not too excited about it because it did not fit like the package...but I am shape more like an upside down triangle which means I don't have much of a waist it's weird....but I like the color and gues what I actually do like how jersey feels...WOW!!! I always had ill feelings towards it because I thought it was a cheap material...but it's not...and it flows very beautifully.

One of my major problems with this dress is the way the sleeves fit and how the shoulder area kind of pucker out...I think it's because I used too much interfacing...I interfaced both sides which was a bad idea....and it caused it too kind of stand up and out...I have to do something about it....any suggestions?

Here is what it looks like on my "dress form" she looks all distorted....Honestly I don't know why I add this on...but hey here she is....

By the way excuse the mess...I had to take the picture in the basement since that's where "she" lives...I would give her a name but she already freaks me out in the dark ..so I hate to think I would be actually giving her an identity...lol

How good does this look! I am impressed that a pretty complicated pattern came out looking so good on your first try with jersey. My first go was on a really simple straight up and down thing and it didn't come out this good. As far as the shoulder problem I can't really see what your describing, but I have learnt that jersey does not unpick, unless you like the ladders and holes looks, but as I said I couldn't see anything glaringly obvious in the photos for you too worry about. Good job!

First, I think the dress turned out well. Turn the dress inside out. Hold the steam iron over the dress and see if you can easily pull the interfacing away from the outside layer of the dress. What type of interfacing did you use? Send me an email at samtowanda@msn.com.

I don't have suggestions as I'm a beginner but your dress looks great, especially the color.

I think it looks great. I have had this pattern for a while, but there were so many pieces, I have been putting it off. Yours looks great. I think Towanda's advice is the best to try.

I think it looks pretty good, and I can't see exactly what you mean with the shoulder interfacing either. Great color, and hooray for nice knits! I agree with the steaming advice, you can probably remove the interfacing, or some of it anyway.

I really like this dress on you and the colour really works well for you. Like Susan, I've been toying with this pattern myself, so it's nice to see it made up on a person. I think it looks fine as it is, but as Towanda said, try the steam and see if you can move things around a little. Lately when sewing knits, I've been adding a self lining instead of interfacing to avoid any lumps and bumps.

I like the dress but I do see what you are talking about on the shoulders. Would a good pressing with lots of steam help at all?

Great color, and your fellow sewers are right, a steam press this right up, after you do it post some pics then, let's see the finished products
