Keeping it moving...New Look 6544 Misses Tunic

So here is a project I started a while ago...I lost interest in it...it just kind of went to the side since I started the dress...but since I hate unfinished projects...ehh..why not.....I already had to do some adjusting... I added 4 inches on each side of the shirt...because there largest size still was way too tight on me

I should of taken the lace out of the plastic zip lock but I got lazy...

And here is the top...I still have to add on sleeves, collar and lace....it's 60% done...so not so bad...
anyway that's it for now...Have a Happy Labor Day!!!!

Yay for fall fashion week....(atleast for me)

I am absolutely in love with these black laced shoes
on YOOX.com, I have too have them and it's a damn shame they are sold out...
These are from Nine West isn't it just awesome!!!!!

So I am going gaga...for fall I watched HSN, QVC, for inspiration...and then I stole my mother's ELLE magazine...there is so much selections for fall... and I fell in love with the lace/goth look that is now very trendy!!!!!

I guess lace is coming back hard the funny thing about it is, that almost two years ago lace was considered granny or make a garment look ancient, and now its the new craze...I knew I should of followed my instincts

This dress is from Neiman Marcus website some of the dresses are from Donna Karen...what I love about this site is that every dress is catagorized by occasion so if your going to a dinner party go to that section for it, if your going to a cocktail party there is another section just for that! You don't have to do the thinking!!! ( which is great!)

The emerald green dress is from Donna Karen on Neiman Marcus...I love the detail around the waist...

These boots are just so cool ...(my brother hates them!! oh well) they are from shoprobertson.com they are called Gee Wa Wa Actor Boots...I remember these buckled boots being the rave late in the 90's nice too see them come back

Just wanted to say thanks...

This post is for all of the people who took the time to read my post and even make comments...thank you for just giving insightful comments or encouragements...it helps to know that people are kind enough to do the little things that mean the world to me....Thanks once again and I encourage you to continue

So here it is......

So here it is... as you can see the sleeves are not done I have not put the collar in yet..still have to put in the side zipper...

You can see that the seams don't match even in it's pinned stage...I think I have to restitch the first three panels so it can look more uniform and professional

Here is the collar and facing ....

I was trying to take a picture of the point of the gore...
here is the controversial edge zig zag stitch...bad move

So here it is...I hope by the middle of September I will finally finish this garment...

Just discouraged....

I have been working on this dress for the last 2 months now and I am about to just quite. I hate the idea of starting something and not finishing...but this is getting on my last nerve...for this project I had someone help me through it because it was kind of challenging and I wanted the dress to come out perfect...unfortunately I didn't think it would take this long...I thought I would be doing my Halloween costume by now...I hate, hate, absolutely hate when things don't come my way...so far I did the gore skirt and I put in all EIGHT stinking gores in...which was a process because you have to go on the last stitch of the skirt and continue down...well guess what I had to do some over because I went to far up and the tip of the gore looked all bunched up so I had to do that over...then when I was done the skirt felt snug on me good time for me to gain more weight right!!!!... so my lovely instructor decided to cut along the waist she went 2 1/2 inches down so the skirt could fit me better guess what the bottom now it's larger than the top...no problem I thought...we just have to adjust as we stitch...well it's not that easy because the seams of the top don't match the bottom...not necessarily because of the cutting but because I decided to let my impatience get the best of me and I went and stitched the skirt...since one of my major concerns were the way the silk fabric kept unraveling I decided to do a zig zag stitch and trim...then instead of half an inch I restitch each panel of the skirt 3/8 of an inch... to make it more comfortable...dumb,dumb,dumb...according to her it was not necessary and it would of looked more professional if I had it cut with pinking shears...she stated it would of looked cleaner that way...I asked would anyone would of noticed the difference...whether I used one stitch over the other...she said it's not a matter of what people notice it's just doing things right and learning how to do things in a proper manner...I stated ( and I wasn't trying to be an ass about it)...I am just learning and I can't worry to much about perfection...I just need to grasp different ideas on how to tackle problems when they occur...
Listen I am not a perfectionist when it comes to allot of things (at least in the beginning)...I just worry about doing things right...I didn't think it was the fact that I did the zig zag stitch...I think it's because she thinks I question her methods...Like I said I was getting inpatient and I wanted to get it Done!!!...so I apologized since I am still the student..
But does it really make a difference what method of stitching I use when trying to resolve the unraveling issue?
Anyway I will post a picture of the Dress?...once I have my temper under control...on a brighter not I am thinking of doing another dress...BURDA 7783..in black and gray...

Wish List!!!

These are my new inspiration for the fall season...so far I have found a couple of dresses, tops, and boots that would make a huge impact on my everyday wear...I have never been a fan of animal print but this top is so chique( I don't know if I spelled it right) and yet not too gaudy...
But I can't deny the style it's almost to tempting to pass...(almost)

Okay but the boots are kind of gaudy !!!! but I love them anyway...it's just so out there it would be impossible to miss.... My only question is what would I wear with these boots?

And these boots are just hot...I love the shoes but the boots make a stronger statement...the only problem is ...I can't think of an occasion to wear them too...but I would invent one if I had too!!!

I like the outfit all together but I think it's a little safe...I probably would wear it too work... or some kind of casual meeting or date...

I think I like the print of the fabric more than the dress...it is cute though!

I love this dress...when I first saw it, I thought it was the same cut as the last dress but...it's the little details like the collar that makes it a little more interesting....

I always wanted to make a shirt like this with cotton, but I never got around to it...I love the collar and the sleeve detail...it gives it the extra pizzaz and the color makes it stand out!!!

Okay by now you see I have a thing for shoes that has some glitz or shine...I can't help it !!! this shoe kicks a$@ !!! Although I can't wear them worth a damn!!!! But it's always nice too look ;)

Well that's it for now I will be updatingmy post about the dress I am working on so far I have the facing done and put most of the gores on my skirt it's a matter of the little details like putting everything together hopefully I will be done with it before August...

Watching the WE channel...

Does anyone watch the WE channel?
I just watched Amazing Wedding Gowns on the WE channel and it was amazing….the show gave the audience and inside look on various wedding designers boutiques…such as the legendary Vera Wang to other top designers like Angel Sanchez, Anne Barge, Camille Ed Pedrini, Amsale Aberra….and my favorite of the all Rene Geneva who is known as the eco-friendly designer…she is so unique, her use of fabrics and designs are brilliant and very vibrant…nothing about her gowns are typical….it was AWESOME!!!! And a great eye-opener, the time and creativity it takes to make these gorgeous gowns… is mind-blowing…but as Amsale Aberra stated “it’s couture”….I was so taken aback on the details of the construction on these phenomenal gowns….all I have to say is this was an Amazing show and I thoroughly enjoyed it…..I wonder what going on in Project Runway?
Hmph!?
Peace

Getting past tragedies and trying to see God's blessings

Today was an awfully depressing day, yesterday a close friend of the family got into a horrible accident that left her in a comma...funny thing was the other day while looking at other blogs I saw a post on The Mahogany Stylist blog ...and she shared a story about the lost of her sister...at the time I didn't know what to say because I felt there was so little to say when someone lose someone special...at the time I couldn't really relate and I was afraid of leaving something that didn't seem sincere...so I left it at that...and although I didn't make a remark...it lingered in my mind on how fragile life is and how easily we can go...and that subject always broke my heart...and it's something I try to live by...but I try hard not to think to much of it...well yesterday while driving back home my sister call me on my cell and asked if I was alright I said yes...then she told me to be careful because there is a huge accident not to far from me...I told her not to worry I was on another road...little did I know that very same accident was the accident...my mother friend was in!!!
When I got back from my Dr.'s appointment this morning, I found my mother at the kitchen sink washing dishes...I went by as usual and said hello, she asked me if I had plans and of course I told her I did...then she told me about the accident...and started crying...of course when something like this happen...any and every plan can and will be canceled...and I quickly rush her to see her friend... because I know how important it is to be near someone you care about in their time of need....then I started to think ...How is it the other day I couldn't find the words to comfort someone about a loss...but today I now suffer from one?
You see people life is too short to sometimes think to hard...it sometimes to short to even worry about tomorrow...as easy as it comes it's even easier to go...
Never stop to think about being kind...or giving a kind word because tomorrow you might need that very same encouragement to go on...
Peace

Halloween Costume Option #2...Butterick 4315

Well I think I found it!!! I went to Jo-Anne with a friend of mine the other day and we were flipping through their catalogs for new inspiration...while looking I found this beautiful costume pattern and automatically fell in love with it...it was perfect!!!

And then I got a little intricate...since we have a gown what can I do with it that would make it not only stand out but make it look more authentic....I had to think for a while what accentuates a woman's garment, make it more elegant and give it more BANG!...and that's when it hit me...JEWELRY!!!! So of course ( as always) OPTIONS....(this maybe tacky but hey it's Halloween, if there isn't one holiday where you can be tacky as all heck it's this one)...When I first saw this one I have to tell you I literally drooled over it....it's very overwhelming and over the top but that's what I love most about it....it's gaudy, it's shiny and very dramatic and it's not afraid ...it has pizazz, personality, it not only crave attention it DEMANDS it!!! OOOhhh I love when jewelry talks to me.......But when I saw this one I knew it had to be the one...it absolutely gorgeous the colors, the draping, the design makes it so perfect for the dress....I just couldn't resist but post it...Now this beautiful piece cost around 179.00 dollars...
But the one before it cost 480.00 dollars so I think as far as price range I will stick with this one!!!
I CAN'T STRESS ENOUGH HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS HOLIDAY!!

Talk to you soon
