Just dealing....(work not sewing related)

I have to state first and foremost...I am not perfect. I have flaws like everyone else and one of them is my temper. I am not a person who enjoys confrontation but if need be I will engage. At work I realize the hard way I can't let people in.... because at the end of the day work is work, and outside of it is my "real" life. Work is only there to support my lifestyle not be a part of it. I state this because I need to know whether I am in the right or wrong.
I have a particular supervisor who sometimes have a tendency to be moody....and being a moody person myself we don't always get along. I especially despise how she sometimes treat a particular individual at my job and since I don't want her to treat me with such disrespect.... I decided awhile back that I will only interact with her, when it comes to the job itself and not go beyond that. Now she is upset that I no longer engage in conversations outside of what we have to do? Now am I wrong for taking such precaution or is she being immature?

Sometimes you have to guard who you let into your space/spirit. You are not required to hold personal conversations with her. Try to always be plesant so that you can't accuse you of being rude. You might try to limit your conversation to social plesantries. It would be good if you could explain why you feel that way that you do. Sometimes, people need to hear how their behavior affects others.

You are doing the right thing. Don't put yourself in a position where someone can hold something over you. So long as you are pleasant and do your job, you will be fine.

Thankyou both for taking the time to comment. As of late I have been trying real hard to keep to myself and do what I am asked to do. I will try my best to be pleasant but professional.

I would take that precaution. I think it's prudent. I'm sorry you're in that situation... :( I had a boss like that, she turned 60 an just kind of started treating people really weirdly. We tolerated it until she started firing people who had been working for her for 20 years.. I had to eventually walk away...
