Would it be weird if I ....

Was too actually try to find sewing friends in my neck of the woods...or is that a little juvenile. I mean I have seen many adds online on sites (that are not too reputable) asking for all kinds of "friends" but am I retarded if I were to put an add trying to make friends with similar interest...more importantly a strong interest in sewing.
Is that weird or what?
I think it would be more fun having someone (doing it with) ...wait hold on that didn't sound right....someone to participate in these friendly, clean activity would be another motivation for me to keep sewing on a regular basis. Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

I think that's a great idea. I envy the ladies that live close enough to meet up and have a sewing day together. I wish I had more people closer that I could connect with to sew or just to call on the phone and ask sewing related questions.

By no means weird! I LOVE sewing with my sewing friends. It's the best and I get the best ideas when I'm around them. We meet every week and most have young children and still squeeze it in because it is GREAT!

It's not weird at all. If you can find people who share your interests, it means you can actually talk to a person and learn together. I don't know anyone who sews and would love to meet sewing friends nearby.

Thank you ladies for the input. I will be posting about the results soon.

That is not a weird thing at all. In fact you might want to check out a website for that very purpose. Check out www.meetup.com and put in your city/zip code and sewing as your interest. There might be sewers that meet in your area. Good luck!
